Homestead Cooking Workshops -- Tamworth

Clydesdale Camera Day -- Merrimack

The first Saturday of the month is Clydesdale Camera Day. Bring your camera and pose for a photo with a world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale. America’s Kitchens -- Concord
Now through January 17, 2010
America’s Kitchens showcases the important role of kitchens throughout American history. Based on extensive research and authentic historical kitchens, the exhibition features recreated kitchens, artifacts, photographs, and the personal stories that bring them to life. The exhibition features vignettes of historic kitchens in colonial New England and 19th-century Illinois, as well as a traditional adobe kitchen in the Southwest, and a 1950s bright blue, “show kitchen.” Through interactive experiences, visitors can learn what it was like to churn butter, share a kitchen memory, or jot down a recipe from one of the many cookbooks available. Location: New Hampshire Historical Society’s museum, 6 Eagle Square. Tuftonboro Country & Gospel Jam – Center Tuftonboro
Now through December 2, 2009
This is a real old time jam session in a historic old church building. Musicians in these sessions range in ability from old time country musicians that have played many grange hall dances to new country and bluegrass enthusiasts. Musicians and singers that are interested in this type of music are invited to join in. Dates: Every Wednesday. Location: Old White Church, Route 109A. Time: 6 to 9:30 pm. Cost: Free. The Met@The Music Hall -- Portsmouth
Now through March 2, 2010
The Met@The Music Hall is a series of live transmissions of performances by the Metropolitan Opera to movie theaters around the world. During the 2009-2010 season, nine matinee performances of the Metropolitan Opera will be broadcast from Lincoln Center in New York City and shown on the Music Hall screen in high definition. October 10, “Tosca” -- A new production of Puccini’s Tosca by Luc Bondy in his house debut, starring Karita Mattila in the title role and Marcelo Álvarez as Cavaradossi. George Gagnidze sings the role of Scarpia.
October 24, “Aida” -- Daniele Gatti returns to conduct a cast of powerful voices in Verdi’s Aida. Violeta Urmana sings the title role, while Dolora Zajick returns in one of her most acclaimed portrayals as the Egyptian princess Amneris. Johan Botha is Radamès and Carlo Guelfi sings Amonasro.
November 14, “Turandot” -- Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production of Puccini’s Turandot features the Met role debuts of Maria Guleghina in the title role, Marcello Giordani as Calàf, Samuel Ramey as Timur, and Marina Poplavskaya as Liù.
December 19, “Les Contes D’hoffmann” -- Bartlett Sher directs Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Joseph Calleja stars as Hoffmann, with Anna Netrebko as Antonia, Ekaterina Gubanova as Giulietta, Kate Lindsey as Nicklausse, Kathleen Kim as Olympia, and Alan Held as the four villains.
January 9, “Der Rosenkavalier” -- Stellar cast is led by Renée Fleming as the Marschallin and Susan Graham as Octavian. Eric Cutler is the Italian Singer, Kristinn Sigmundsson sings the role of Baron Ochs, and Christine Schäfer is Sophie.
January 16, “Carmen” - The new Carmen, starring Elīna Garanča, will feature Roberto Alagna as the soldier Don José, Barbara Frittoli as Micaëla, and Mariusz Kwiecien as the bullfighter Escamillo.
February 6, “Simon Boccanegra” -- Plácido Domingo makes history by singing the baritone title role of Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. Adrianne Pieczonka, Marcello Giordani, and James Morris co-star.
March 27, “Hamlet” -- Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet will be seen in a new production by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser, starring Simon Keenlyside in the title role and Natalie Dessay as Ophélie. With Jennifer Larmore as Gertrude, Toby Spence as Laërtes and James Morris as Claudius.
May 2, “Armimda” -- The season’s final new production features Renée Fleming in Rossini’s bel canto tour de force Armida. Also starring Lawrence Brownlee, Bruce Ford, José Manuel Zapata, Barry Banks, and Kobie van Rensburg.

View the Rare Bird of Fashion: The Irreverent Iris Apfel featuring more than 80 unique and dramatic ensembles created by legendary style icon Iris Apfel, then take in Valerie Belin: Made Up, whose photos explore perceptions of beauty and identity through images that blur the line between fashion models and mannequins. Brett Weston: Out of the Shadow

This is the first major exhibition in 30 years dedicated to this brilliant, visionary, and prodigious photographer, showcasing his prolific body of work with more than 100 exquisitely printed vintage photographs from the 1920s through the 1980s, all handcrafted by the artist. Downtown Dance Party with DJ Logic -- Portsmouth

DJ Logic, musician and producer known for using turntables in a live band setting, stars at The Event, a hip downtown dance party to benefit The Music Hall.
