Outdoor Activities

The 4th MOO - Museum of the Outdoors

Oct 4, 2025 - Oct 4, 2025 92 Millbridge Road, Sandwich, NH 03227

The Museum of the Outdoors (MOO) is a pop-up event on Squam Lake in Sandwich, New Hampshire.  The event will feature a series of creative installations. Whimsical, interactive, and thought-provoking, MOO includes sculpture, fine art, music, performance, and conceptual pieces.

This year we hope to feature over 30 artists, more music, and light refreshments by the lake. The “creators” will install their work that morning, open it to the public. It is a one-afternoon, leave-no-trace, cultural, community event. Last year, hundreds attended and enjoyed the experience for the afternoon.

The event will be held at Camp Hale, a 100-year-old summer camp that serves Boston youth.  The camp provides a beautiful setting with open spaces and woods along the shores of Squam Lake. Be aware that the terrain is steep and rugged in places!

MOO is free. Free to the creators and free to the admirers. In a world where everyone is selling and fundraising, MOO is simply about celebrating creativity, community and the outdoors. Rain date is October 5.

Due to the rugged terrain, MOO is not handicap accessible.
