Best Outdoor Innovation Since S’Mores: Glamping!

Glamping? That means glamour + camping. You may like the idea of going camping – brilliant starlight, birdsong as you awaken – but you may feel less enthusiastic about discomforts like sleeping on the forest floor. The solution is glamping: prepared camp sites with amenities like large tents equipped with a full-size bed, sometimes on a foundation, comfortable chairs, wood stove, fire pit, and other conveniences. Glamping provides all the basic (and sometimes better than basic) comforts of home even as you immerse yourself in the quiet, blazing beauty of mountains and forest and lakeside, away from noise and pavement, lighted by stars.

Escape to the great outdoors in style at these comfortable woodland glamping sites

If you think camping means sleeping bags on the ground and a long midnight walk to a bathroom, think again! At Huttopia White Mountains, we allow you to experience the more polished side of camping. That means real beds with down and feather blankets, private or shared bathrooms — and electricity! Accommodations include cozy tents for two, family tents with kitchenettes and wooden floors and rustic two-bedroom chalets with heat and full kitchens. Set on 50 gorgeous acres in the White Mountains, the 102 campsites are close to trails and a private beach on Iona Lake. At base camp, you can rent a canoe or paddle board, go swimming in a heated saltwater pool surrounded by trees or grab a freshly made crepe or pizza at the bistro, a converted Airstream trailer.

After exploring the trails, head to your mountaintop site and camp in style

You don’t have to go totally rustic when you book a Play and Stay adventure at Bear Rock Adventures. Rent an ATV or snowmobile for multiple days, explore this area’s exciting trails, then head for your glamping site! Your tent will be outfitted with a queen-size bed and all the necessities: No equipment from you is required. There’s a personal wood stove, picnic table, Adirondack chairs, camp toilet, and a fire pit with a grill. Each site is atop a small mountain overlooking the Great North Woods and Canada by day. And at night, you won’t believe how vivid the Milky Way is. Got a big group? Ask about a Grand tent site, which includes an enclosed outdoor shower (with hot water!).
