The Higgins family purchased Lamie’s Inn as a home for their popular restaurant, The Old Salt, after the original location on Hampton Beach was destroyed by fire. The Old Salt’s reputation for quality and warmth is the perfect compliment to the Inn’s tradition of excellence. We're a family-run restaurant specializing in fresh local seafood but we also have an extensive steak, sandwich and appetizer menu. Enjoy a meal in our restaurant, or relax in our Tavern with the sounds of live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.

The Tavern, with its open hearth “Summer Kitchen” fireplace, granite walls and hand hewn beams, provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional New England fare. Georgian décor and candlelight recreates the warmth and charm of a fine colonial residence. Coppers, the original winter kitchen of the 1649 homestead provides an elegant and romantic setting. Wide plank floors, the open hearth, and original millwork create an authentic old New England dining experience. A popular dining spot for both locals and travelers, the Terrace offers outdoor dining in spring, summer and fall. Lunch is served Tuesday through Saturday. Dinner is served 7 nights a week. Our ever changing dinner menu offers such enticing signature entrees as Grilled Lamb Persillade, or Roast Duckling accompanied with raspberry Chambord sauce. For those less traditional, try one of our chef’s ever evolving beef, chicken, seafood, pork, or vegetarian dishes. Pair our food with a bottle of wine from our extensive menu, or enjoy your favorite cocktail prepared in our fully stocked tavern. Dessert includes a variety of delicious homemade treats ranging from sour cream custard drizzled with raspberry coulee, to flourless chocolate pate with white chocolate sauce. After dinner, relax with a cup of coffee before a roaring fire in the fieldstone fireplace in our living room. You will find dining at the Darby Field Inn is more than a meal, it’s an experience!
