 New Hampshire’s muscular White Mountains have sprouted world-class skiing at mountain resorts that are easily accessible. These resorts have large vertical drops, numerous trails and terrain parks for all abilities. Ski lodgings range from ski bum hostels to luxurious mountainside resorts. In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, there are many places to snow tube, sled, and even take a horse-drawn sleigh ride.
Closer to the cities there are also impressive ski mountains in the picturesque Lakes and Dartmouth-Sunapee regions. Opportunities for getting out and about on cross country skis and snowshoes are found throughout New Hampshire. Nordic ski areas are found at the big Alpine mountains and in quieter and very beautiful nooks around the state.
Snowmobilers have thousands of miles of groomed trials on which to travel. Guided snowmobile tours and rentals are easily found throughout the mountains areas of the state.
New Hampshire’s ski towns, and those near to the mountains, also have great outlet shopping. Inns, resorts, condominiums, and motels provide numerous lodging choices and services, with many ski and stay packages available to help your travel budget.
