Since 1874, Wentworth by the Sea has stood as a landmark hotel commanding stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, Isles of Shoals, and the Piscataqua River. Reopened in 2003 as a premier Marriott Hotel & Spa after a massive renovation, the hotel – a AAA Four-Diamond lodging - is located just minutes from historic downtown Portsmouth and the Kittery outlets; an hour north of Boston, and close to beautiful parks, beaches, and seacoast attractions. Wentworth by the Sea offers 161 guest rooms and suites, most with ocean or harbor views. Meetings, conferences, and social activities take place in the Grand Ballroom, two-full service restaurants, and historic gardens. An outdoor pool complements a full service spa.

The Sunset Hill House was built in 1880 - not for guests, but as servants’ quarters for the Main Inn. In 1900, management realized that servants had a better view than the paying guest, and was converted into part of the Main Inn. Then touted as being quieter while still convenient to the goings on at the main house. Like the original hotel, it shared cutting-age features such as private bathrooms, hot and cold running water, electricity and central heat. The present-day Sunset Hill House is a destination country inn featuring fine lodging and dining as well as recreational activities such as golf and skiing. A visit is the best way to was and what is The Sunset Hill House.
