White Mountain Arts Festival - Sat & Sun August 16th & 17th, 2008
This two-day juried event, sponsored by the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held in the Jackson Park on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17. Selected artists and craftspeople will be selling their work under a large tent by the pond in Jackson Village. Other artisans, musicians and food vendors will also be located in the Village Park. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day. It was through the eyes of the artists of the White Mountain School of Art that the world first became aware of the beauty of Jackson. Works of art from local and visiting artists who convey their vision of this spectacular area on canvas continue to be popular purchases. Many of these artists are considering participation in this exciting new event. Art contests, entertainment, refreshments, and children’s events will go on throughout the day, making this a day for the entire family. The day will be filled with fun activities for kids and the young at heart. Come early for the action-packed fun-filled duck race and see 3000 ducks bobbing and splashing their way to the finish line. Activities in the Park start at 10 a.m. and post time for the race is 2:00 p.m.. Local restaurants will satisfy hungers with fabulous barbecue foods. A parade and pictures with Wildquack Duck. Bo Bo T. Clown will be on hand to delight kids and parents throughout the day.
